A vision came to me while at a fair. A tarot reader was standing, attracting customers to his table. I had my own tarot deck in my backpack and thought: "looks like this place is not big enough for two tarot readers. DRAW!". And so the Tarot Duel was born.

Path of the Golden Thread is my entry for the Knave 2e content competition by Ben Milton. It is a generative campaign that uses tarot as the main tool and inspiration, with everything from the map, events, plot twists and NPCs dictated by the divinatory cards.

A universal hack for every and all ttrpg systems, which strips the main character privilege off the players and instead puts them in the shoes of the lowly common minions that populate bestiaries everywhere. Overthrow the dungeon from within, defeat your Boss and form the first Minion Revolution!

The protagonist of this extract is Klaudius, a lonely young monk serving at a cemetery on the northern coast of the Archduchy of Westerlandt. Klaudius’ not much of a man of faith, he's mostly just a bit down on his luck and too timid to give in to any adventurous instinct. Until that fateful night.
